Ali was admitted as an associate in 2022 and specialises in employment law with specific focus on:

• Employee benefits and pensions law;
• Employment and general commercial contracts;
• Employment and general commercial litigation;
• Employment related commercial law;
• Advice on restraints of trade;
• Development of employment policies and procedures;
• Advice on all employment-related legislation;
• Drafting and advice on social and labour plans;
• Sexual harassment advice;
• Unfair labour practices and dismissals;
• Advice on workplace COVID-19 and vaccination policies and mandates;
• Drafting of COVID-19 and mandatory vaccination policies;

Other than employment law, Ali has served his practical vocational training under various other senior directors where he gained extensive experience in litigation and drafting of legal opinions with particular focus on:
• Privacy and data protection;
• Eviction proceedings in terms of the PIE Act including large scale land occupations and invasions;
• Debt collection;
• Commercial disputes and litigation in the High Court and Magistrate’s Court

He acts for various clients including individuals and corporate entities operating in different industries and educational institutions.
